Helios Towers signs agreement with SA Towers

Helios Towers , first investment in the country following the establishment of its partnership (HTSA) with Vulatel, announced early this year that this investment will accelerate Helios Towers’ entry into South Africa.  As part of the agreement, the group will invest into the platform and provide management expertise to accelerate the conversion of the pipeline. The partnership with Vulatel, will enable Helios Towers to rapidly scale its South Africa operations.

Helios Towers to invest R1.4bn in SA over three years

London-based Helios Towers, which owns and leases out 6,560 cellphone towers in Africa, plans to spend about $100m (R1.4bn) on building network infrastructure in SA over the next three years.

The company will enter the SA market through a partnership with Vulatel, a majority black-owned business.
